Description TRAFFIC CONTROL CREW CHIEF This is a supervisory
position. The Traffic Control Crew Chief is accountable for the
safety, quality, and efficiency of their work and the Crews
assigned to them. The Traffic Control Crew Chief reports directly
to the Traffic Control Operations Manager. REQUIREMENTS To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all
areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job

equivalent Preferred: None LICENSING / REGISTRATION / CERTIFICATION
Required: Valid state issued drivers Commercial (CDL) license in
good standing ATSSA Certified Traffic Control & Guardrail
Technician ATSSA Certified Traffic Control Supervisor EXPERIENCE
Required: Five (5) Years or as required by Traffic Control
Operations Manager Preferred: None SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Ability to create efficient schedules that align with work that
must be completed and the appropriate hours available to complete
the work. Ability to accept direction and feedback from the Traffic
Control Operations Manager Ability to adjust to changes in work
tasks or environment Ability to read, understand and carry out
written and verbal instructions and present questions when
instructions are unclear Ability to take initiative by evaluating
situations, making decisions based on facts and solid judgments.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude Ability to program,
maintain and repair arrow boards and message boards. Knowledge of
traffic control & Permanent Installation Knowledge of layouts.
Ability to operate in an organized and time efficient manner
Ability to read and understand work instructions, plans, drawings,
etc. Ability to take direction from Traffic Control Operations
Manager or take initiative if exact direction has not been
assigned. Ability to work extended hours, days, and weekends when
necessary including nights and holidays Reading, writing and
arithmetic skills Management capabilities PHYSICAL The physical
demands described here are representative of those that must be met
by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of
this job. BODY POSITIONS: Must have the ability to sit or stand for
extended periods of time while performing job functions. BODY
MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements
including the use of their hands to fingers, handle equipment and
tools. The ability to bend the body, crouch, kneel and crawl to
reach for objects is required. BODY SENSES: The employee must have
command of the following senses: sight, hearing, and touch.
Specific abilities include: vision must be able to discern colors,
as well as depth perception. STRENGTH: The employee must have the
ability to lift 80 pounds with regularity. WORKING CONDITIONS This
position requires the employee to work outdoors in conditions that
may range from hot to cold and rainy at times. Travel to the
warehouse, office and jobsites may be in all types of weather
conditions including rain, snow and icy conditions. AUTHORITY The
Traffic Control Crew Chief is authorized to take any reasonable
action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned
approved or delegated by the Permanent Install Operations Manager.
Such authority may include: Report any abuse of the Companys
policies and procedures to Traffic Control Regional Manager or
other members of Management. Failure to do so may result in
disciplinary action up to and including termination. Authority to
enforce the Companys Safety Policies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary functional duties and responsibilities of the Traffic
Control Crew Chief include but not limited to: Ensure crew delivers
contracted service and products in a safe and timely manner Follow
work instructions to ensure consistent product quality Oversee all
mobilization activities Schedule all work according to the
committed job activities. Initiate and schedule all new work orders
Dispatch assigned crews based on schedule availability Maintain
work areas, vehicles and work sites in a neat and orderly fashion
Supervise Crews Assigned. Ensure traffic control is set up to TXDOT
standards Responsible for crews wearing safety equipment
Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of crews,
vehicles and equipment including cleaning and upkeep Ensure all
materials are double checked prior to crews leaving Responsible for
ensuring THA, forklift, skid steer, TMA, inspections, vehicle
trailer inspections and safety meetings are conducted per policy
Keep daily logs of employees on crew, the tasks they were assigned
and the amount of time they spent on tasks each day Submit daily
logs to front office at the end of each day Perform all layouts and
locates as required by company and state law Complete work zone
inspections on a consistent basis per policy Ensure all
demobilization activities are completed thoroughly and timely
Address all concerns or questions from customers and resolve
problem Act in a manner that represents the professional manner
reflecting the companys values and principles. Notify Traffic
Control Operations Manager of any quality or safety related
concerns Keep the Traffic Control Operations Manager informed of
all ongoing activities Maintain a cooperative working relationship
with employees and management Recommend measures to improve
efficiency, product quality and safety Constantly look for and
suggest ways to perform duties and responsibilities more
effectively, what we call Act Like and Owner Maintain a positive
attitude and be a positive example to coworkers. Perform duties in
a manner that is compliant with all applicable regulatory bodies,
Texas DOT etc. Perform other duties and tasks as may be assigned by
