The Chief Nursing Officer(CNO) is a member of the Hospital's
Senior Leadership Team and is responsiblefor planning, organizing,
and directing the overall operations of the NursingDepartment while
providing leadership, guidance, and direction to all Nursingstaff.
The role assumes 24/7 responsibility and has accountability to
ensurehigh quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency
of clinical staff,and appropriate resource management related to
patient care. The CNO representsnursing concerns on the governing
board and at medical staff leadershipmeetings.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations
- Current BLS certification essential; ACLS preferred.
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related OR a written plan to
obtain such qualifications approved by the Corporate CNO and the
hospital CEO, unless a higher degree is required by the state.
- Five or more years of experience in an inpatient hospital
setting essential.Two or more years ofrecent (within the last five
years) nursing management experience, includingresponsibilities
such as 24-hour accountability, FTE management; policy,procedure
and budgetary oversight; and conduction of disciplinary
