Overview Texas Colon and Rectal Specialists is looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! This position is for the Texas Colon and Rectal Specialists location in Arlington located at 515 W Mayfield Rd., Suite 250, Arlington, Texas 76014. This position requires weekly travel to the Colleyville location. What does the Certified Medical Assistant do? Under direct supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing, faxing, chart prep, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Certified Medical Assistant will have the following background and experience: High school graduate or equivalent required.Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.Willing to consider a mid- or senior-level candidate.Minimum three years of experience as a medical assistant strongly preferred.Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required.Active and current Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred.Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant.Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.Experience in surgical environment preferred.
