Job Description:
Clinical Manager of Telemetry Units The Manager is responsible
for the supervision, coordination and evaluation of nursing care
provided on the assigned unit(s). The Manager also coordinates and
supervises the activities for the unit, which supports the safe and
efficient delivery of care. The Unit Manager assists the Department
Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement
activities, hospital policies/procedures and in the financial
management of the Unit. An ideal candidate will be comfortable
navigating complex challenges and should serve as an educator and
trusted mentor to staff. Additionally, the Telemetry Manager should
thrive in a fast-paced environment, as the Med/Surg unit is the
busiest department in this acute care hospital building. Summary:
Requires basic understanding and ability to utilize the nursing
process; requires knowledge, ability and judgment necessary to:
Exercise judgment within the guidelines of the medical plan of
care, department policy and licensure practice act. Oversees the
supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training,
and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes
recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to
achieve peak productivity and performance. Create or assists with
the development and implementation of policies and procedures
consistent with those of the organization and nursing standards).
Promotes effective communication within the multi-professional
team. Requires understanding of management and delegation
principles. Performs additional assignments/activities as assigned.
Demonstrate some knowledge, ability and judgement necessary to
perform within the guidelines of the disease specific care of
patient that are but not limited to: neuroscience, oncology,
orthopedic and cardiology disorders. Licensure/
Certification/Registration: Current Texas State RN license or
compact license is accepted. Current Healthcare Provider BLS issued
by the American Heart Association required Education: Bachelor's
degree required Master's degree MHA, MSN, MBA, or related field
preferred Experience: 3-5 years' experience as a staff nurse in the
clinical area required 2+ years of Management Experience in Medical
