HR Analyst - Compensation & Benefits

Job Description:

ROLE AND PURPOSE: Gather, organize, and analyze data relating to total rewards, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leaves of absences. Perform exemplary customer service and assistance to employees, managers, and senior leadership.

NOTE: This is an ESSER- funded position for no more than a three (3) year period beginning with the 2021-22 FY.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or four (4) years of experience in Human Resources required.
Two (2) years of Human Resources or professional office experience in addition to Bachelor's degree. (This portion of the experience requirement may be met with a Master's degree.)
Minimum six (6) years in human resources or professional office experience required without Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Public school district HR experience

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Considerable knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data,
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Ability to deal with confidential information.
Ability to demonstrate problem-solving, project/time management, and priority setting skills.
Knowledge of general compensation including compliance with state and federal laws and regulations preferred.
Knowledge of leave laws including FMLA, and ADA preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

COMPENSATION SUPPORT

Support in maintaining stipend database and processing approved stipend requests
Assisting with training campus support staff in stipend submission
Support campus administration staff with extra duty compensation requests
Develop, document, and implement procedures for administering the districts pay practices and ensure that procedures for placement of newly hired employees and employees who change assignments are applied consistently. Streamline processes to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Analyze and interpret data to determine competitiveness of district salaries. Identify and recommend appropriate changes.
Analyze compensation policies in relation to wage and hour regulations and recommend changes as appropriate.
Participate in compensation surveys.
Conduct surveys as need to collect market data.
Investigate and respond to salary review requests from district personnel.

HR LEAVES AND RETIREMENT SUPPORT

Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership.
Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
Administers all aspects of leave programs, provides extensive case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims.
Independently approves/denies leave cases based on relevant medical information,
Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
Manages administrative aspects of leave to include tracking hours, used/taken and working closely with Employee Relations, HR Customer Service, Payroll, Risk Management, and Legal to ensure employee's cases are processed correctly.
Works closely with employees to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all associates and their managers on leave and coordinates all aspects of the return to work for associates on leave.
Produces and manages reporting metrics and analytics for all leave and retirement cases.
Educates employees regarding retirement procedures and conducts individual employee meetings to assist with retirement paperwork.

HR BENEFITS SUPPORT

Partner with Wellness vendor and Champions to ensure staff remain engaged in the AISD Wellness program
Track wellness points earned by employees and send reminder notification and status updates when needed
Develop wellness communication materials
Responds to benefit inquiries from employees on plan provisions, enrollment, status changes and other general inquiries.
Generate invoices for missed insurance premium deductions for employees on FMLA, temporary disability leave, assault leave, military leave, or worker's compensation leave.
Reconcile premium statements and generate invoices for the collection of insurance premiums for missed deductions.
Support the administration of the employee sick leave bank and wellness programs.
