leading regional provider of innovative networking solutions. We
are committed to delivering high-performance, reliable, diverse,
and scalable network infrastructure to our clients. We are seeking
a highly skilled and experienced Optical Transport Engineer with
expertise in DWDM and Ethernet networks, along with a solid
understanding of outside plant fiber infrastructure and power and
space requirements in the telecommunications sector, to join our
dynamic team. In this role, the Optical Transport Engineer will
review network designs, develop optimization or migration
strategies, and oversee the efficient deployment of services across
the network. You will also create detailed budgets to support these
initiatives and monitor cost savings following migrations. Strong
communication, time management, and project management abilities
are critical for success in this position. Responsibilities: ·
Design, implement, and maintain fiber optic transmission systems,
including Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and
Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) technologies. ·
Develop and optimize network architectures and configurations to
ensure high availability, scalability, and performance. · Conduct
detailed engineering analysis and design for optical transport
equipment from manufacturers such as Ciena, Fujitsu, and Smart
Optics. · Perform network performance monitoring, troubleshooting,
and optimization to maintain service reliability. · Collaborate
with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging technologies and
solutions into the existing network infrastructure. · Provide
technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering
a culture of continuous improvement. · Develop and maintain
comprehensive documentation for network designs, configurations,
and operational procedures. · Stay abreast of industry trends and
advancements in fiber optic transmission and optical networking
technologies. Requirements: Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor’s
degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related
field; Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional
experience. · Minimum of 12 years of experience in network
engineering, with a focus on fiber optic transmission, DWDM, and
ROADM technologies. · Extensive hands-on experience with Ciena and
Fujitsu optical equipment, including configuration,
troubleshooting, and performance optimization. · Strong knowledge
of optical networking principles, including signal propagation,
attenuation, dispersion, and amplification. · Proficiency in
network design tools and methodologies. · Excellent problem-solving
skills with the ability to perform effectively under pressure. ·
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. · Ability to work
independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: · Certifications in optical networking or
related fields (e.g., Ciena Certified Optical Network Professional,
Fujitsu Optical Networking Certification). · Experience with
network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl). ·
Familiarity with network management systems and protocols (e.g.,
SNMP, NETCONF).
