FoodMaven is seeking to hire a people-oriented, physically-fit,
detail-oriented and entrepreneurially-spirited full-time Delivery
Driver who is interested in getting in on the ground level of a hot
startup with a big mission. The Delivery Driver will work as part
of the Operations Team to drive temperature-controlled vans to
deliver food in the Dallas - Fort Worth metro area, document key
learnings, and to be a part of the development of an efficient and
effective operations flow for FoodMaven. The Delivery Driver will
be a face of FoodMaven: respectful to coworkers and customers,
focused, organized, driven, physically able to move large loads,
able to follow direction, detail-oriented, and adaptable. S/he will
be highly skilled at inventory documentation, team communication,
and customer relations. Above all, the Delivery Driver will be
expected to jump in and help where and when required, be passionate
about learning, and steward the success of the organization.
Develop positive rapport with all partner/customer employees, in
particular the main point of contact at a pickup site. This
includes demonstrating punctuality, sound communication,
professional dress, and friendly behavior. Be a decent human!
Address any concerns from partner/customer employees, document
those concerns, and communicate unaddressed concerns with FoodMaven
Product Assessment, Sorting & Inventory:
Accurately identify food types, characteristics, and food
identity numbers (SKUs, PLUs, etc.) when assessing and sorting
Assess product quality based on FoodMaven quality rating systems
to accurately and consistently rate all handled food product.
Sort product into distinct product groups based on assessment
measures using government-approved food-handling protocols.
Document inventory correctly and thoroughly into designated
data-collecting systems. Effectively communicate about inventory
issues, questions, and concerns.
Documentation and Equipment Maintenance:
Collect appropriate data for all merchandise and procedural
steps outlined in work manuals and food-handling protocols.
Integrate documentation into manuals on a regular basis.
Maintain and care for FoodMaven equipment, ensuring that all
equipment is calibrated, clean, and otherwise operational
Train incoming employees on documented procedures.
Team Communication & Meetings:
Develop thorough, regular, and effective communication habits
with all teammates.
Be punctual and attend all required team meetings. Share and
listen to findings on the job to improve operations, support
teammates, and build community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experienced delivery driver
General vehicle maintenance, such as maintaining tire pressure,
checking oil level, etc.
Experience using pallet lifts and jacks
Ability to lift 60 pounds frequently and up to 90 pounds on
Experience with inventory management, product packaging, and
People person, skilled communicator, able to stand for long
periods of time
Passion for food, community, entrepreneurship, startups
Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a Department of
Motor Vehicles background check
Must pass a general background check
Food handler’s certificate
Previous experience delivering pallets
