Job DescriptionPosition Title: Senior Relationship Banker Exempt
Status: Non-Exempt, Full TimeReports to: Branch Manager
Branch:Arlington Park Row Summary of the Job: To create a memorable
experience that delivers consistent and value-added services
dedicated to developing lasting customer relationships and
discovering opportunities for new business. Provides teller
services including processing transactions such as deposits,
withdrawals, and cashing checks. Processes new accounts and loans
as well as cross-selling other products and services Southside
offers. Utilizes knowledge and judgment to assure the validity of
transactions processed, accounts opened and refers questionable
items to an Assistant Branch Manager or above. Maintain a
professional appearance in both dress and behavior.Essential
Functions: Customer Service
- Understands the benefits of all bank products and services and
is capable of communicating benefits to customers as well as other
employees.
- Capable of maintaining the security and confidentiality of
pertinent information and records and assists customers with all
requests for new accounts as well as maintenance on existing
accounts.
- Meets or exceeds all operational and sales goals determined by
retail management to include balancing, and attendance and others
as applicable.
- Provides account information to customers and receives and
processes loan payments and processes line of credit advances.
- Performs special services as requested by customers, such as
selling official checks, processing cash advances and selling
traveler's checks and redemption of savings bonds.
- Communicates disclosure requirements and regulations to
customers in accordance with regulatory guidelines, provides
disclosures and brochures as needed.
- Accepts and verifies customer deposits. Cashes checks and
processes less cash transactions within their authorized limit;
obtains supervisor's approval to process transactions which exceed
their authorized limits.
- Continues professional development through training, seminars,
membership in professional associations, as applicable.
- Greets customers and non-customers as they enter the bank.
- Contribute to a positive team environment in the
branch.Customer Relations
- Consistently perform with accuracy and efficiency to build
customer confidence and trust by performing by performing functions
necessary to help our customers with their needs. May include
notary services, providing account information, selling and
maintaining safe deposit boxes, issuing debit cards and assisting
with disputes, help customer with account reconciliation and
problem resolution.
- Contributes to the growth of a profitable loan portfolio by
originating loan applications for all types of consumer loan types.
Proficient in cross selling consumer loans when opening new
accounts for existing or new accounts
- Complete daily customer thank you calls and hand off 2x2x2
process to the Branch Manager for follow up.
- Build customer loyalty by acknowledging all customers by name
with a sincere greeting to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Make customers feel appreciated by thanking them for their
business.Customer Development
- Recognize each customer transaction as a cross-sell
opportunity. Identify and respond to the needs of new and potential
customer by listening and clarifying their needs. Direct customers
as needed to other Southside departments.
- Responsible for providing quality customer service while
maintaining a high rate of accuracy, efficiency, and attention to
details. Maintain confidentiality of customer's signature cards;
personal, financial, legal, and account information, personnel and
bank management information.
- Utilizes profile process to uncover problems, needs and
opportunities, and create positive solutions to the customer.
- Utilizes a pipeline to keep track of customer future
needs.
- Meets or exceed goals and expectations as communicated by the
branch management team. Operational Excellence
- Follows established policies and procedures to avoid fraudulent
activity (verify identification, review account history and
recourse, etc.)
- Follows compliance procedures and verifies accuracy of
reporting applicable transactions such as CTRs, SARs, monetary
logs, and Reg CC holds.
- Maintains cash drawer limits and is responsible for meeting the
balancing standards of the cash drawer on a daily basis, working in
accordance with the Teller Over/Short Policy. Ensures that all cash
outages are reported to management.
- Completes applicable logs and performs all end of the day
balancing procedures as applicable.
- Assists with opening and closing duties and may serve in a lead
role if directed by Assistant Branch Manager or above.
- Meets or exceeds all operational and sales goals determined by
retail management to include balancing, and attendance and others
as applicable.
- Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as
they pertain to this position.
- Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures
established at Southside Bank.
- Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and
regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act
(BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance
with the Bank's Information Security Program.
- Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and
employees consistent with the Southside Bank's mission and
philosophy.
- Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to
Southside Bank customers and employees.
- Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent
information and records.

Functions:
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.Required
Education/Experience:
- High School Graduate or the equivalent required.
- Three – five plus years Banker experience including consumer
lending plus one year Teller experience preferred. Proven sales
results.Necessary Skills:
- Proficient in typing, 10-key calculator and data entry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.Physical

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the
time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity
machinery, such as a computer, scanner, computer printer, etc.
- The person in this position needs to frequently move about
inside the branch location to assist customer's transactions,
access different machinery, process cash, etc.
- Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the branch,
including under the desks or in a different area of the
branch.
- This person must be able to detect, recognize, and identify
customers as they begin assisting them.
- Must be able to transport 25 pounds of coin a distance of 5-25
feet from a work station to the vault, up to five times a day,
depending on how much coin is delivered that day.
- Motor branches – employee must transport the cash from work
booth inside the branch.
- In-store branches – employee must transport the cash from the
coin machine to a bag which is moved to the vault.Working
