Description:Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented
and innovative Sr. Scientist to join the Antibody Generation group
within the Biotherapeutics department located at the Abexxa
Biologics facility in Arlington, TX. The position offers an
exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery and molecular
engineering of Biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs. You will be
an integral member of the Antibody Generation group, responsible
for the design of display experimental strategy, construction of
display libraries, selection and screening, and analysis of
experimental data. You will be expected to make major contributions
to the generation of best-in-class and first-in-class therapeutics
to address major unmet medical needs.

employees.Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and construct in vitro antibody display libraries
(phage, yeast, or mammalian) for therapeutic lead identification
and lead optimization, e.g. affinity maturation
- Perform in vitro antibody discovery via library panning and
screening; apply lab automation in everyday procedures
- Be familiar with advanced theory and current developments in
the field of antibody display technologies and make recommendations
to management regarding the advancement of capabilities
- Demonstrate independent thinking, e.g. by proposing and
implementing new experimental designs and concepts that contribute
to research goals and reflect expert knowledge; identify potential
patentable inventions
- Create a culture of excellence through continual process
improvement, scientific curiosity, and empowerment; develop and
maintain outside visibility
- Prepare clear technical reports, publications, and oral
presentations; independently communicate results in the form of
reports and or presentations; present responsibly and defend own
work at scientific meetings; deliver project updates to senior
level management
- Contribute to departmental administration; demonstrate fiscal
responsibility with respect to cost of experiments, technology,
external collaborations, and travel
- Comply with applicable regulations, perform all work in a safe
manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and
policies.Requirements
- A PhD
- Advanced knowledge of a technology such as phage, yeast, or
mammalian display, standard molecular biology techniques, antibody
library construction from immunized sources, sequence analysis, and
vector design using Geneious, Vector NTI, or similar software
tools
- Experience in bioinformatics and structural biology is a plus.
Background knowledge of general biotherapeutics discovery
processes, including lead generation, protein science, biophysical
and biochemical characterization is preferred
- Experience in use of Microsoft Office tools and GraphPad
(Prism)
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment,
present and defend results to project and technical teams.
