Overview: The GMF Data Warehouse Data Quality team is responsible for ensuring the data integrity and data correctness in the structure and content of the Data Warehouse. The Data Quality team serves to enforce data quality standards in completeness, integrity, accuracy, consistency and timeliness of data. The Data Quality team works closely with business units and report developers to identify key tables and data points that require automated verification monitoring. The Data Quality team is also responsible for Quality Assurance testing of ETL code developed for the Data Warehouse environment. The Data Quality Analyst II will conduct extensive testing for the purpose of reconciling data between the source system, the staging area and the Data Warehouse while verifying its integrity throughout the ETL process. This team member will perform root-cause analysis into Data Warehouse issues, provide an effective resolution and implement a remediation strategy for automated monitoring. The Data Quality Analyst II must have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. The team member will have exposure to data mapping, coding, ETL, metadata and report development and analysis in order to find defects and propose improvements. The job entails supporting data quality initiatives in all aspects of Data Warehouse administration as well as collaborating with business units and enabling groups for identifying optimal solutions.Responsibilities: JOB DUTIES* Designs, develops, and analyze the results of complex data queries necessary to identify data quality issues and presents results in an easy-to-understand format to end users* Partner with project teams, data architects and ETL developers to perform work assignments and provide timely project status* Provide sign off and acceptance for ETL validation, data verifications and change management activities* Works with business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct data profiling, establish business rules and track metrics necessary to monitor data quality* Closely monitor ETL processes for support activities and escalation* Coordinate workload, monitor the ticket system and delegate assignments with on-shore and off-shore teams as required by on-call rotation duties* Work with several cross-functional areas, IT, DBAs, Data Architecture, Data Integration, Business Intelligence, Reporting, and data users to research and resolve issues* Develop recommendations on how the business can constantly improve its data quality* Comply with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained* Perform other duties as assigned* Conform with all company policies and proceduresREPORTING RELATIONSHIPAVP Data Warehouse QualityQualifications: Knowledge* Knowledge of business processes for supported business groups* Knowledge of GM Financials core business functions, policies and procedures* Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations* Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices* Working knowledge of the consumer loan businessSkills* Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives* Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues* Deadline oriented* Experience with data visualization concepts and tools* Good in the use of Microsoft Office software* Good people skills* Good writing and speaking skills* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressureAdditional Knowledge Skills and Abilities* Must have an advanced understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL)* Must have an understanding of the Data Warehouse and its impact to reporting and analysis Knowledge of data query and extraction tools (ie, Informatica, TOAD)* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure* Experience with test automation, QuerySurge, HP ALM, Microsoft Azure preferred* ETL experience preferred (development, research)* Experience or exposure to Agile preferred* Experience with Data Quality tools and practices or data profiling applications preferredEducation* Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferredExperience* 3-5 years experience with complex querying and analyzing data; SQL experience required* 3-5 years experience in data warehousing environment preferredWorking Conditions* Subject to stressful situations* Possibility of working long hours may be required* Limited travel may be required to support business needs
